Needs Advice On Baby Formula Since Breast Milk Is Not Sufficient
Hello Doctor, I am a father of a baby girl. He was Born in 45 days ago. she is now 3.2Kgs. We started giving simyle mct after 8 days her birth , as my wife does not have sufficient to feed her. Could you please recommend which is good for my daughter. Lactogen-1 or Nan-1 . regards
Hello
Thanks for query
First of all I want to know how did you assess that your wife does not have sufficient. Does not your baby satisfied after feed or sleep for 1-2 hour, does not she passes urine 5-6 times per day ? Best way to assess adequate feed is that weigh your baby on electronic machine before and after feed and check whether there is increase in weight or not. If at all there is decreased milk production then encourage the mother emotionally, make her stress free, give her plenty of water and at least 40% extra nutrition. If you have tried all this then you can use formula milk any one lactogen or nan but follow the instruction mentioned on the container like proper dilution or hyigene maintainance.
I hope this answers your query effectively.
With regards
Hi welcome to HCMForum. You can start with lactogen 1 then gradually increase the level.
if she is not comfertable with this you can shift to cow or bufallows milk.
as an alternative you can use lactogogues to improve mothers milk. For that i advise you
to consult a doctor. thanks for calling.
