Neonate Suffering With Mild Cold. Suffered With Jaundice And Cured. Is Cold Symptom Of Jaundice.
Hi,
After birth my Son has suffered from mild jaundice of 2.5 but when he was 7 days old billirubin reached to 21 but after regular treatment of photo therapy this level was reduced to 13 and than he was discharged from hospital. Repetitive tests shows an improvement, now he is 23 days old and yesterday we noticed that he is showing symptoms of mild cold. Someone told us this is a sign of Jaundice being completely recovered since jaundice patient cannot have cold. Needs your expert advice.

Cold is not a sign of jaundice.
Cold is due to infection with a virus or due to nose exposure to some allergic factor like dust etc.
Jaundice is detected by seeing the child eyes. If they are yellow, then we can say jaundice is present.
Jaundice in newborns clears by the age of 15 days.
And cold is not a presentation of jaundice.

jaundice has nothing to do with cold.
jaundice in newborns is because of excessive red cells present during fetal life are destroyed that causes jaundice, this thing has nothing to do with the jaundice.
for cold give child sinarest drops 5 drops three times it will decrease symptoms.
jaundice will present with yellowish discoloration of the skin if any yellow color on the skin consult doctor
