Nerve Pain. Switch To Tegretol From Gavapentin Recommended?
Husband is taking 900 mg of Gabapentin for nerve pain.
Family doctor just called and is switching him to tegretol to see if this works better.
He said for him to just stop taking the Gabapentin and take Tegretol.
I feel this is wrong since gabapentin could cause seizures if stopped like that.
Any help you can give me I would appreciate it.

Hi Linda,
Your apprehension is valid, though the chances of such an eventuality is less. From the pain control point of view, it would be prudent to gradually wind down the gas a pen tin as the car amaze pine dose is built up. However, if the original dose of gas a pen tin is quite less, it can be stopped and the other drug started as well.
