No Bowel Movement, Cough, Cold, Sore And Itchy Throat, Took Stool Softener, Pain Medicine. Suggestion?

Hi, I had a laparoscopic procedure on Wednesday. I haven't had any bowel movement at all. I took 4 tablets of stool softener each day for the past two days. No effect yet. I was able to pass gas and urinate.in addition. My other main concern is coughing. It no longer looks like jus a sore throat from the tube. It seems to be a cold as I feel itchy And when I was able to cough it out, it is greenish. Can I take a z - pak while I am taking the pain medicine and the stool softener?

Hi,
You have infection as the secretion is greenish and you need an antibiotic. Along with the antibiotic, you should also take saline gargles and lukewarm water to drink. If you do not have any sensitivity, you can take azithromycin. To relieve your constipation, please pay attention to your diet and see that you have more fiber in it along with water. You can try lactulose solution or cremaffin liquid after consulting your specialist. Hope your query is answered. Wish you good health.
