No Help From Prednisone And Antibiotics For Bronchitis, Soreness In Arm Pit Worsening When Coughed. Any Thoughts?

I have been sick for 6 weeks with cold symptoms. After week three I was told I had bronchitis. I was given an antibiotic. The antibiotic did not work. Week four I went to the doctor again and was given prednisone. On the last day of taking the prednisone the symptoms seem to worsen. I had a lot of drainage and cough. On week five I called the doctor and he called in another prescription of prednisone. I did not take it because I felt that it only masked the symptoms for the week that I took it. I have been taking mucinex. Today, I wake up and I am having a soreness under my left arm pit. It worsens as I cough.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi,
You need to visit a Pulmonologist and get evaluated in detail. Investigations that may be required are chest Xray, sputum afb smear, peripheral smear, serum IgE levels and Pulmonary function test. Based on the evaluation reports you need to take the prescribed medications.
