I have two small sores on my abdomen that will not heal. I was able to extract a small black sliver . I have applied alcohol to the area 3 times per day...and it seems to be drying up, yet I continue to see more small slivers appear. I visited the dermatologist about 6 weeks ago, but at that time, I could not describe these black particles because they were not as evident, therefore he concluded at that time that it was most likely some kind of bite - and prescibed an antibiotic and a topical steriod . I intend to make another office visit this week - but do you have an additional input/experience for me to considering sharing with my dermatologist? Should I resume the antibiotic/ steroid now? Thank you.
Hi, From history it seems that there is infection took place on insect bite area. Go for one antibiotic medicine course. Apply triple acting cream locally after proper cleaning sore area. within few days you will be alright. Ok and take care.
