Hello, I was in the hospital last week for chest pain, trouble breathing, a very uncomfortable pressure in my heart feeling. After thoroughly examining my heart by EKG's, blood work, and an echo cardio gram, they determined I had Viral Pericarditis. The cardiologist said he did not find inflammation from the standard test but that it doesnt mean some is not there. All my symptoms pointed to it. I also had intense heartburn . THe week before I pulled my Trapezus muscle and ONE of the doctors thought that was a beginning sign of it. Perhaps inflamming me even more. My question is, can I have pericarditis even if they found no inflammation in the pericardium? Does that simply mean its very mild?
