Noticed A Hard Painful Bump Under The Skin Of Shoulder

My 80 year old Mom has a large bump under the skin that is painful. Its about the size of a 50 cent piece. Its not a boil. Its on her shoulder on her back shoulder blade. She just developed it 3 weeks ago?? Its red but not hot. Its hard.

Didnt know it costs cant afford it sorry. Im low income. So is my Mom.

From what you are describing, the bump that your mom has may be a:
--Lipoma, a collection of fat tissue that may grow fast, may stay stable or may regress by itself.
--A cyst that may have infected if hurts and is red.
--An infection of the hair folicule, or a wound that might have caused the collection of pus under the skin. In this case, it may become very painful, is hot and cause fever.

If I was your caring doctor, I would recommend to keep an eye on it, look for signs of fever, redness, bulging, and getting worse. In this case, seek the help of a doctor.
