I just had a baby 4 weeks ago and Ive notice that when I have a bm it's very painful very lil bleeding only when i have stool in fact I have somewhat of a lump on one side of my anus I don't know if I should wait until my six week check with my obgyn or family physician
Usually during pregnancy some amount of constipation can be seen under the influence of the hormone progesterone, if it continues during the postnatal period also sometimes you can see bleeding per rectum because of the straining during the passing of stools. The mass you mentioned could be hemorrhoids or a sentinel pile. As you are having the problem no need to wait till your 6 weeks check up. You better consult your gynecologist once and get examined.
By clinical examination the actual cause of the problem can be identified and treatment can be taken accordingly. Laxatives, local analgesics can help in giving symptomatic relief. Taking plenty of oral fluids and high fiber diet will help in relieving the constipation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
