Noticed Blood While Cleaning The Ears Which Is Causing Severe Pain

Hello everyone,

I was stupid and tried cleaning my ear with a wooden skewer while sitting down, accidentally raised my knee up against the bottom of the skewer and the top of it hit my eardrum very hard, was quite painful. About ten hours later now, still pretty painful. There is some blood, not too much but i've cleaned it three times and each time there was some. Took ibuprofen for fear of infection.
What should i do? Disinfect with cotton swab and alcohol? Go see doctor tomorrow? Should i sleep on the damaged side or on the other ear?

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
As you describe, there appears to be a scratch in the ear drum, or walls of the external ear.
I advise you to consult an E.N.T. surgeon for diagnosis and treatment,to exclude the damage of the ear drum.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms ofloxacin, ornidazole, serratiopeptidase, and diclofenac .
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
