Noticed Blood & Yellow Pus After The Piercing In Naval
I had my navel peirced about six weeks ago now. Initially I had a small amount of discharge but it seemed to be healing I well. I have many peircings and have had never had problems before but now the top of my navel is hard and somewhat red. It is sore to the touch. When I clean my peircing some blood and yellow pus come out. I don't have any other symptoms though. What should I do?
There is definitely some infection at the site of piercing which is giving rise to pus mixed blood discharge.
The best way to approach is to start an empirical oral antibiotic for a week OR 10 days (My choice of oral antibiotic would have been Amoxycillin in combination with clavulanic acid, thrice daily OR Cephalexin 500 mg thrice daily for a week).
Also apply OTC antibacterial cream/ointment e.g 2% mupirocin ointment OR Neosporin ointment, twice daily for a week.
Regards
