Noticed Popping Like Sensation Near The Ribs Due To An Injury
I went to an amusement park with my daughter. I weigh 95 lbs and she weighs 180 lbs. The ride tossed her too my side and I got squished by her and I felt a rib pop. Since then, it has been popping under my left breast and it hurts to breath sometimes and it hurts when I laugh and REALLY hurts when I sneeze. Everything else is fine though I dont have pain when I reach for stuff, but it hurts a lot at times. Is it broken do ya think? And if it is, what should I do?
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. You are having blunt chest trauma. And following are the possible complications of blunt chest trauma that can cause similar symptoms like you have. 1. Rib fracture 2. Pulmonary contusions 3. Pneumothorax 4. Muscular injury So get done chest x ray first. If chest x ray is normal then no need to worry, you are having mostly muscular injury. So follow these instructions for better symptomatic relief. 1. Avoid heavyweight lifting. 2. Avoid strenuous exercise. 3. Avoid bad posture and movements in sleep. 4. Start painkiller and muscle relaxant. 5. Apply warm water pad on affected site. Don't worry, you will be alright.
