Numb, Tingly Sensation In Right Hip That Alternates With A Slight Burning After Working In The Yard
Hi, I am a 45 yr old female. Five days ago after working in the yard I began to experience a numb, tingly sensation in my right hip. It alternates with a slight burning. I feel beter standing and moving and feel no pain walking. I do feel discomfort sitting on soft couches or laying in bed. I also have 3 bright red raised "welts" in the numb area that look like some sort of allergic reaction but must be related to the nerve pain because they appeared concurrently. I am exercising, gentle stretching and core srengthening: what else should I do and should I go to my doctor?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thanks for asking HCM I have gone thrrough your query. Osteoarthritis of hip is a possibility. A hip X ray can rule out that. A consultation with orthopedician is better. For my patients with hip osteoarthritis i recommend heat or cold application locally, weight loss and physical therapy. Medications like NSAID group or Tramadol and paracetamol is given orally. Topical NSAID and caspasin also i advise for some patients. Let me know if you have any further query. Have a nice day.
Hi! As mentioned from history you are having pain due to nerve compression but not as symptomatic requiring surgical intervention . Get an MRI and X Ray LS Spine done to find bony and nerological involvement under orthopadedition guidance and start treated with regular physiotherapy , warm compression, avoid flexing of spine ,lifestyle modification , vitamins n other symptomatic management if report doesn't show any gross abnormalities or as advised .
Thanks n Regards
