Numbness And Worsening Tingling In Left Arm And Hands. Burning Between Shoulder Blades. Is It Stroke ?

I am a 40 yr old female who two weeks ago started having numbness and tingling in left arm and hands, which gets worse when I'm mobile. In the last couple days I just haven't felt right. Last night I started having extreme nausea, a burning on upper right side of chest. Today I'm not much better and now I'm having burning between my shoulder blades. I'm scared as I have heart and stroke history in family. I did go to hospital last week, they said it's not heart. Not sure I believe that. Please help!

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have been experiencing. Though the exact cause of this is difficult to tell without further investigations, I will suggest that the spinal vertebrae be examined. This is because a problem at this level would most likely affect the nerves that exit and go to the arms. This can be the lone unifying idea why you would have symptoms along the entire limb.

This is clearly not a heart attack. Otherwise, it would not have been this progressive and over a long time. Heart attacks are often abrupt .

I will suggest that you meet and get examined by your primary care physician. Preliminary testing and investigations may warrant further management that requires specific care and he would direct you to the appropriate service that be.

I hope you find this helpful. Thank you for using our services and please feel free to ask for more information if need be. I wish you the best of health.
