Numbness In Chest, Excessive Saliva, Muffled Voice, Slight Problems With Breathing

At random times I get this numbness in my chest/upper abdomen. I can't move any air and It feels like the breath was knocked out of me. I get excessive saliva and a muffled voice. This lasts about 45 seconds and goes away completely with no lasting effects. It happens when I'm driving, reading a book, cooking.. Just extremely random times.

Hi Thanks for your question.
The symptoms like numbness in chest and upper abdomen along with chocking sensation most probably could be due to reflux of acid from stomach into esophagus and pharynx and then into larynx. This could give rise to excessive salivation and muffled voice. The condition is called as LPR that is laryngo pharyngeal reflux. Get yourself examined by an ENT specialist to rule out this condition and to find out any other cause of your symptoms. Treatment depends upon the cause.
Hope this answers your question.
