Obese With Pain In The Toe. Bunion Formed. Correct Diagnosis?

I am 5'6", 256 pounds ( but loosing, I was 279) and one day woke up with a pain behind my second toe on the back side of my foot. Felt like I was walking on a marble. Went to a foot Dr. and he said I have a bunion. Although all the pictures on the internet I see, a bunion's on the side of the foot. He told me about ice and tied my big and second toe together. Is this a correct diagnosis?

Hi thanks for writing here.A bunion is inward deviation of great toe .It is due to long term use of ill fitting and pointed shoes.Great toe is angulated towards second toe .It leads to pain in second toe. There is formation of swelling on outer side because of pressure. It is not a bunion as such.So pictures seen by you are that of outer side swelling. It may occur later stage. So diagnosis and treatment is correct and be in followup with your doctor.Do not use ill fitting shoes.Take care.
