Occasional White Patches On Face, Spreads, Darkens From Sunlight. Using Multivitamin Syrup, Medicated Face Cream. Advise?

Hello doctor, my name is ankita, my age is 24, since childhood i am suffering from the problem of white patches on my face, they are very light and disappear over a period of time .first time they occured when i was about only 10 years old. These patches become darker and spread on faster rate when exposed to sunlight.
Please tell me a permanent solution. Currently i am taking a multivitamin syrup and using a medicated face cram 'Candid B'.

Hi,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to HCM.
It appears from your query that your facial skin is bit sensitive to sunlight. The problem which you suffered in your child hood was the common problem of flaky white skin in that age. Now being young lady of 24 years it appears that due to sun exposure to your skin gets burnt, gets darker and then heals with light colored patches which we call as post inflammatory hypo-pigmentation.
The most important of the thing to tell you is kindly stop the application of Candid B cram as is containing bit strong steroid in it which can cause serious side effects on continuous usage ( like thinning of skin, hair growth and redness). So kindly stop it at once.
You consult a dermatologist who can guide you further regarding the problem.
Meanwhile as you know your condition is aggravated by sun so do sun protection by using sunscreen and umbrella. Eat a very nutritious diet as is the main long term solution for improving the strength of body from harsh effects of sunlight.
Hope it helps.
with good health wishes,
