On Ramipril For Heart Disease. Causing Cough. Cough Drop Stops. Cardiologist Instructed To Stop. Feel Depressed. Side Effects?
I had been taking Ramipril 5mg (heart disease) for four months and the last two months, it was causing me to cough in the middle of the night, waking me up out of a sound sleep. It wouldn't stop until I had a cough drop. My cardiologist instructed me to stop taking it, and indicated there was nothing else to take for my heart disease. I cold turkeyed it a few days ago and am extremely lethargic and feeling depressed. Is this a normal reaction for stopping Ramipril and how long does it take to leave your system?

Ramipril develops cough .
No doubt the reason of cough was side effect of ramipril . Now you need not to take ramipril .
Your main query is ,"how long does it take to leave your system RAMIPRIL ".
The ramipril is no longer in your system.
The lethargic state and depression is due to addiction of cough drops , which you were taking for your cough almost for two months.
Now only option is either consult a psychiatrist or self determination you can get rid off this situation.
