On Synthroid. Taking Dalmane. Elevated TSH Levels. Due To Multivitamin ,B12 And Vitamin D?
my tsp is 16.5 and I am on Synthroid .125 Free T4 is 18 which is normal. I do not have a thyroid gland. It was removed 15 years ago . I feel fine, not losing weight although I am not able to sleep without my Dalmane pill at 32 mg. which has been going on since premenopausal days. I am 72 years old and in good health I thought. I was told that because I take a multivitamin ,B12 and vitamin d at the same time as my synthroid , that could be the reason for the elevated TSH, but I have been doing that for years so why now is my TSH elevated so much? Could I have a pituitary problem and what should I do.Do I need an endocrinologist rather than rely on my Family Doctor
Hi As such you dot not have thyroid gland in body then this hormone TSH ( TSH=Thyroid stimulating Hormone) to whom it will stimulate even if it is high because there is no more thyroid gland so do not worry The value of TSH is not depending upon B12 or D vitamin but stop taking vitamin D with your own. have good day
