On Antibiotics For Strep Throat, Hurts While Talking Or Swallowing. What The Problem Might Be Ahead Of Time?

I had strep throat for a few days or so, and I went to the doctor and got antibiotics, which I admit I havent been taking regularly, but now, starting yesterday, my throat has taken a turn for the worse and it hurts when I talk or swallow now. So much to the point where I am thinking of going to emergency care. Can you help diagnose me so I know what the problem might be ahead of time?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The antibiotics would only have the chance to be effective if they are taken appropriately.
It is possible that since you were not able to take the medication regularly that it has worsened.

You may need to restart a course of antibiotics.
The use of oral pain medications or oral gels/sprays/lozenges may help to relieve the pain that you are experiencing.

Cold fluids would also provide some relief.

I hope this helps
