On Clindamycin Vaginal Cream. Have Itching. Will Inserting Medicine Help Me?
My doctor prescribed me clindamycin vaginal cream for an infection. I am on the second day of using it and still have itching at night. I cant seem to find an answer to how long before the symptoms go away. The prescription is only for three days but i will have extra and im wondering if i should continue to use it for longer. I also was wondering if along with using the dosage that is inserted if applying some around the outside of the vagina where the itching is would help.
The persistence of symptoms could mean two man things. Firstly, inadequate or resistance to the given drug or another disease or pathogen that is not targeted by this current treatment. I suggest you get a vaginal swab done, culture and sensitivity tests to identify the actual pathogens and the particular antibiotics that shall be sensitive or cure these particular causative organisms. If vaginal infections are recurrent, it would be necessary to screen for diabetes mellitus.
I suggest you consult your gynecologist for a proper clinical review. Thanks and kind regards.
