On Crutches After Ankle Fracture. Have Weak Feeling In Hands And Unable To Hold Crutches. Reason?
I have to use crutches following an ankle fracture.
On occasion, as I grasp the crutches, I get a very weak feeling in my hands and am then unable to hold on to the crutches, which precipitates pain spreading down both my arms from the shoulder downwards, which lasts for a coupe of minutes or so.
My wife wonders if this is to do with a nerve. I, regrettably, have a heart attack phobia, even though I have perfect blood pressure and a no heart problems of which I'm aware. I am 69 years of age. Mike.

hi.. you had ankle fracture and using crutches for support for walking.. if you are putting this aids under the arms, it will compress the nerves in the axilla, that will lead to the symptoms of weakness and numbness... see your orthopedician for testing the possibility of neuralgia/neuroproxia.. all the very best..
