Open Pore On Left Cheek, Squeezed, String Of White Foul Smelling Pus Came From It.
For years i have had what seems like an open pore on my left cheek. Very small in size, appears like a little hole in my face. With a small visible lump underneath. I squeezed it about a week ago and a string of white, extremely foul smelling pus came from it. It refills afterwards. I d appreciate any help you could give
Hi, Thanks for writing in. You are most likely having a sebaceous cyst on your cheek.
Sebaceous cysts are not dangerous and can usually be ignored. Placing a warm moist cloth (compress) over the area may help the cyst drain and heal. Use medicated soap to clean the area and face washes regularly. This will prevent infection from developing in the cyst.
You should not try to squeeze the cyst yourself. It can further get infected. If the cyst ever becomes swollen, tender, or large, you should consult your doctor and they will decide on draining it.
Right now you must consult your doctor and take a course of antibiotics.
Hope this helps
