Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

This is just to inform you that an infection occuring in an orthopedic implant surgery (either with plate or nail) will never be eliminated completely with any sort of treatment untill the implants (plates) are removed.

This is just because of the fact that the bacteria will form biofilms and gets adhered on to the metal surfaces into which the antibiotics penetrate or any washing of the wound cannot eliminate them completely.

So, there is no way to eradicate the implant infections with food or anything else except implant removal followed by a prolonged appropriate antibiotic usage.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
