Operated Femur And Inserted Plate, Pus Started To Build On Outer Surface, Cleaned The Plate. Healing And Pus Formed. Suggestion?
i undergone a opertaion in dec 2012 in which doctor operated my femer and inserted a plate with 7 screws after 4 months the puss starts to built on my outersurface of skin where operation is done, after that i undergone another operation in which doc clean my plate , the bone is healing but now again the puss flow started in july 2013,,,,what should i do,...which things i avoid like food n all
This is just to inform you that an infection occuring in an orthopedic implant surgery (either with plate or nail) will never be eliminated completely with any sort of treatment untill the implants (plates) are removed.
This is just because of the fact that the bacteria will form biofilms and gets adhered on to the metal surfaces into which the antibiotics penetrate or any washing of the wound cannot eliminate them completely.
So, there is no way to eradicate the implant infections with food or anything else except implant removal followed by a prolonged appropriate antibiotic usage.
