Basically, you just need to stay away from the decongestant pseudoephedrine and its relatives. You will need to read labels carefully, as most formulations out on the market today contain decongestants. Your best best is to get single-drug medicines (meaning they contain only one active ingredient), and use only what you need to ease symptoms. Generally, cough suppressants, expectorants, and antihistamines are considered safe.
