Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query..You are 53 years old and has severe burning while passing urine This is mostly due to UTI which recurs once in a while at the peri menopausal age. Please get your routine urine test and Ultrasound scanning of abdomen done to rule out any pathology. In the mean while take some antibiotics like ciprofloxacin and bladder antispasmodics like Oxybutinine twice daily for a week.If you get repeated episodes of burning micturition get Urine culture and sensitivity done to find the organisms responsible for infection and the antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
