Pain And Swallowing Discomfort After Weight Slipped Onto My Neck. When Will It Heal?
I was working out this morning on a bench press free weights and the bar slipped out of my hands and landed on my chest and then slid down onto my neck. I can breath normally and talk normally. discomfort continually but worse if i touch it and when swallowing. ate lunch with no problem. any idea how long this may take to heal?
Relax. It seems do not have any serious situation right now. I will try solve your query.
Discomfort and painful swallowing generally occurs with the type of concussion injury ( With heavy objects ) you have mentioned. It is absolutely normal and goes on time in 2-3 days. It is good that you do not have breathing problem which might make the situation worse.
I advice my patient like you with some simple anti inflammatory like Paracetamol 500 mg thrice daily for 3 days. To add to it I will suggest you to have warm fluids for some days and avoid cold drinks to help in faster recovery. You should visit your doctor personally only of you develop fever , which has got a very remote possibility.
I hope my answer brings smile to your face. Please fell free to share your further doubt regarding this situation .
Thanks for the way you are my life.
