Pain In Ankles, Difficulty Walking. History Of Fall Followed By Feeling Of Punch On Nose. Suggest
I jumped about 5 foot down from on rock to another and the impact felt like i was being punched in the nose. For a second I thought I was going to pass out. That was a week ago this Saturday and my ankles still hurt. Do you think that I just have a lot of bruising? They didn't swell very much but they are very uncomfortable and ache making it difficult to walk.
If you are able to walk normally, it implies that you have not sustained any major fracture in your ankles.
Propably, you could have suffered only a soft tissuecontusion which usually takes around 2-3 weeks to resolve completely.
In the meantime, follow the RICE (rest, ice, compression and elevation) regime and use analgesic medications like Advil or Aleve to suppress the pain and inflammation. If you are not finding any symptom relief, then you may need an MRI scan of the involved ankle joint to diagnose any soft tissue problems.
Hope this information is helpful. Good day
