Hello, thanks for using HCM.
Pain is very discomforting and should always be taken care off effectively. In order to effectively manage your pain, an appropriate diagnosis has to be made so that the underlying cause be treated alongside the administration of pain killers.
From what i understand, you have a pain in your chest that increases with deep breaths and sneezing which started 2 years ago after a trauma and has been increasing ever since then? if that's the case its probable you have an underlying lung pathology which could be at the level of your pleural membrane (pleurisy,
hemothorax etc) and could be associated with
dry cough and a fever in the case of pleurisy.Diabetes is a predisposing factor to a
chest infection and the pleurisy. Other possible causes could be
rib fracture (Crohn's disease predisposes to
osteoporosis and consequently fractures) or contusion of thoracic wall; but with the duration of the trauma, these are less likely.
I will advise you see a doctor for proper examination and lab tests such as a chest x-ray and sputum microscopy in a bit to have an appropriate diagnosis and an eventual definitive treatment.
