Pain In Cricoid Cartilage,swollen,painful Cartilage,cold.
for the last 3-4 days I ve been suffering from pain in my cricoid cartilage , I just want to know what I can actually do about it and what exactly it is? and if its anything serious? I m aware that there is two of these in your throat , but the one on the right is quite swollen.. it also feels like I m suffering from a cold too. when I swallow liquids or solids that also hurts..
i presume you're confused with anatomical terms,
you just seem to have swollen tonsils which gets enlarged during an episode of cold.
during the acute phase of cold or if the tonsils become chronically inflammed then also you will have difficulty in swallowing food (either solids or liquids)
right now just do some warm saline gargling, that should cut down the inflammation, if it does not then you would require a course of antibiotics
Hello Lis,
Welcome here on hcm.
You must be having acidity and regurgitation of stomach fluid might be causing this problem.
I advise you to take some antacid.
If you get relief than its ok.
Otherwise get Inj. Triamcinolone in the pain site.
Thanks
