Pain In Ears, Bleeding After Accidentally Hitting Ears. Any Chance Of Rupture In Eardrum?

hi sir im nandhiinii..i hv an enquiry...yesterday i was cleaning my ears usin cottonbuds and i accidentally poked my inner ear deep n hard with it..it was so painful n was bledding for few secs..after that it has cleared n i jz had slight pain...today morning im having slight pain plus feeling heavy right above the ears.im scrd n confused.do you tink ter is any rupture in my eardrum.plz help me sir

Chances of injuring the tympanic membrane with cotton bud are there but less with a self inflicted injury. Accidental push while cleaning ear mostly result in so. Most likely you must have injured the skin of the external auditory canal and bleeding is from there. Still, keep your ear dry, use cotton plug while taking bath, do not put any ear drops, and symptoms should go in few days with analgesics. Still if you are having severe pain or significant loss in hearing, do consult an ENT. Most small traumatic perforations heal without any treatment. regards
