Pain In Head, Stuffed Ears, Pain Behind Ears, Dizziness, Nausea. Stopped Taking Lexapro. Withdrawal Symptoms?

Hi,
I am having this pain in my head, staffed ears, stiffed neck, pain behind my ears, confusion, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, changes in vision, lightheaded, confusion, tiredness. This usually last for a week or more than that. I was taking Lexapro before and about month after I stop taking this pain came. Than after 4 days having it , I started taking Lexapro thinking that it could be caused by withdraw form this medication. This wired filling went away but I am not sure why I had this? I don't want to be on Lexapro anymore.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.for query.

I read your query about symptoms related to your headach, blocked & stuffed ears etc which had got relieved by taking tranqulizer indicates your disease symptoms has got some exiety factors as well.

As per your symptoms one should examine you on the line of sinusitis with otitis media. Therefore you should do these investigations-

1- X-Ray paranasal sinuses.

2- Culture & sensitivity of throat swab.

3- Blood - CBC, ESR, Blood sugar ( F & PP).

If all these investigation reports comes normal and similarly examination findings are also normal than only one may suspect your case as withdrowl syndrome.

Regards.

ENT Specialist Dr. Abhishek Sharma's  Response
Hello,
your symptoms could be because of ---ear infection then it caused pain in the ears and the infection caused the dizziness and nausea and these infections got controlled on its own.
The medicine Lexapro has nothing to do with it.
BUt i suggest you to consult your doctor and discuss it with him.
As Lexapro is anti depressant and it can not take care of infection so there are less chances that it has cause relief.
But it could have helped in reflux disease , and that could help.as ear infections or ear disease can be caused by reflux disease.
