Pain In Left Ankle After Waking Up, Difficulty In Standing And Sitting, Sore To Touch. What Could Be This?
I went to bed last night without any pain in my ankle. This morning I woke up with a pain in my left ankle. It is swollen and is painful to stand and walk on it. It is tender to the touch. It is only comfortable in one position. What could be the problem? I have done some research and the pain area looks like it could be a high ankle sprain. Could I have sprained it in my sleep?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The pain that you have described could be due to osteoarthritic changes which mainly affects the large weight bearing joints. This can be relieved by taking mild pan killers and joint lubricants. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. Regards, Dr. Praveen Tayal , drtayal72@gmail.com
