Pain In Leg, Difficulty In Walking And Sitting. Started After Taking Lisinopril. Advice?

I have been taking Lisinopril-HCTZ 10-12.5 MG tab for a month now and about 4 dazes after I started I started having horrible pains in my leg. It hurts to walk at times and also sit. I told my heart doctor I thought the medication was causing it,but he didn't think so. It has helped my blood pressure, but I'm almost at the point to stop the medications to see if iot will stop the pain.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Lisinopril + hydrochlorothizide as these two drugs are anti hypertensive and diuretics.
However very potent drugs for control of Mild to MODERATE degree of hypertension.
The side effects of these drugs are ,
volume depletion & electrolyte imbalance ,
muscle pain ,
cramps,
fatigue,
weakness,
hyperkalaemia.
In my opinion as these side effects are providing so many problems for you so this is better to stop the drug.
Consult one more cardiologist and get his opinion.
Depletion of volume and hyperkalaemia are the main culprit of your problem.
Can be confirmed by blood examination for potassium and sodium because hydrocholorothiazide is a very potent diuretic and causes fluid loss.
Hope I have answered your question.
If further any question I will help.
Good luck.
