Pain In Lower Rib While Coughing, Retrocardiac Opacity. What Does This Mean?

HI, I have had symptoms of pain when coughing in my lower rib cage, left side and when I went to E.R. they took ex-ray and said there is an abnormal opacity projecting in the left upper lobe, compared to ex-ray taken 6 mos. ago there is a new retrocardiac opacity.I have scheduled an appt. with a cardiologist for next week but was wondering what does all this mean?
