General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Upper right side pain is very characteristic for gallstones. Especially if the pain radiates to the back. Nausea and vomiting can be present. Certain food like fatty food, spicy food, alcohol trigger the pain.
Yes, you should visit a doctor, have blood work, liver tests (AST,ALT,GGTP,AP) and abdominal ultrasound. If the gallstones will be confirmed, surgery needs to be done.
In a meanwhile please avoid foods which you find triggering the pain.

Hope this will help.
Regards.
