Pain In The Belly Button, Vomiting. Altered Blood Reports. Anything To Be Concerned?
I have a 17 yr. old granddaughter who is having pain about 1 to 2 inches above her belly button. She can not eat or drink anything and keep it down. Took her to hospital last night 5/23 and again today. Nothing found on her test. Her blood work showed her count for something was 7.5 last night and today it was down to 3. something. Not sure what they meant because I was not there with her.
Hello! welcome to Health care magic! From the history I gather that your granddaughter has upper abdominal pain and vomiting. The detail of the blood tests if specific and informative, could have been more helpful! The presence of associated symptoms need to be known - fever, stool pattern, jaundice, food habits, intake of medications, etc might give a clue to the diagnosis. The causes may range from anything from a gastritis, food poisoning, enteritis to a serious pathology like acute pancreatitis, acute hepatitis, acute appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, etc. So at present before they hit the diagnosis , all she might be needing is a complete examination, symptomatic treatment and rehydration measures. Hope she gets well soon!!
