Pain In The Chest, Right Below The Lower Right Rib, Back, Increasing.
I walk up this morning after a week of trips in Europe and little sleep for a week with pain in the chest, right below the lower right rib and in the back, same hight. It is increasing as the day passes by and it now becomes painful when I breath deeply. I can t breath fully. I do not really have a history of stomach reflux but i suspect it might be this. Took a stomach pill and looking for effect. Tough week with a funeral and heavy business challenges in europe. My family physician is off for the week end. Help and suggestions welcome
After going through the available details your right side chest pain which increases on deep breath is most likely to be due to Pleuritic chest pain in which there is inflammation of membranes over lung. it commonly occurs with some kind of infection of lung. The other differential could be any cardiac pain or acid reflux disorder hence please visit a Physician and get examined it can be detected clinically, if necessary blood count an X ray chest and ECG can be performed to know exact cause. Analgesics like paracetamol will help to reduce pain and reducing movement by taking right lateral position while sleeping will help. If infection is there proper antibiotics will be required. Hope this helps. Wish you good health. Take care Dr.A.Dubey M.D
