Pain On The Upper Right And Left Side Of Chest Where The Arm Connects. Treated For A Pulled Pectoral Muscle. Sign For Heart Attack?

My husband began hurting on the upper right & left side of chest where your arm connects. He had been painting our home in May & began walking our daughters dog about 2 miles every evening in June. He is a carpenter & does a lot of lifting of lumber. Our doctor treated him for a pulled pectoral muscle. Is this a sign of heart attack or what?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
As both left and right shoulders are paining chances of heart involvement are less. Get an ECG done which can rule out any healrt problem.
- As he is engaged in heavy work so chances of muscle pull are more.
- Your doc has prescribed NSAID and it should be in combination with Skeletal muscle relaxant like Chlorzoxazone 500mg Twice a day.
It will give him relif.
