Pain, Swelling And Redness In Ankle, Bad Odder During Night. X-ray Done Normal
I have severe pain, swelling and redness in my left ankle. I have had X-rays cat scans. The Doctors cannot give me a cause. Also, at night I give off an incredibly bad odor since I have had this.It has lasted for one month. I have to walk with a walking boot. The swelling has gone down but it is still extremely painful.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. I would come up with these possibilities for this type of pain in ankle joint, these includes. 1 Osteoarthritis , diagnosis can be confirmed by blood examination for c b c , e s r .As you mentioned that there is no finding in X ray & scans. In the beginning we don't find any thing in joint. 2 Rheumatoid arthritis , diagnosis can be confirmed by blood examination for rheumatic factor and c b c , e s r . 3 Bursitis , diagnosis can be confirmed by physical as well as clinical examination . Also history of patient is very important. 4 Tuberculosis is one of the most important cause as in the beginning we don't find any thing in scan & X ray. So in my opinion consult one more orthopedic surgeon and get his opinion. Good luck. Dr.Het.
