Painful Epigastric Region Even After Childbirth. Taken Vitamin B, Amitryptyline. Normal USG. Help
Hi, My wife is 30 years woman. she was complaining of burning and painful epigastric region during her second pregnancy. After delivering her baby I thought the pain will go. However, the pain continued.. she did endoscopy which showed that my stomach and duedonum are normal.... Then this tearing pain continued... The doctor gave her vitamin B complex injections and amitrypteline containing drug... Unfortunately the pain continued and even increased at certain times ....she did ultra-sound scanning and CT scan on abdomin and several analysis ... All appears normal .... The painful area started to get some reddish areas on the skin which were not itching and not pus producing ... Also no fever was encountered .... Just pain for more than one year .... Please Could you help me with your advise?
Some amount of regurgitation is common in pregnancy. But that will usually subside after delivery. AS all her investigations are normal there is less possibility for esophageal mucosal tear etc. So better to go for symptomatic treatment with antacids and anti-inflammatory drugs. Avoid spicy food, excess salt etc. And if the pain persist once go for biopsy. For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429 Take care.
