Painful Lump Below The Elbow. Had A Rotator Cuff Surgery. Slight Bend On The Hand. Is The Lump Due To Surgery?
I have a small lump on the ulna about an inch below my elbow . It is painful if I press on it. My elbow is also painful to touch and has fluid all around it. I am about 4 months post distal clavicle excision and rotator cuff surgery on the same arm . My arm has not been completely straight since the surgery, with a slight bend even when I lay down on my back but has been improving. I had a fall onto outstretched arms about 7 months ago and that arm collapsed and I hit my head and hip as well. Is this elbow issue related to the fall or surgery? What else could it be?
hello,
the painful fluid filled lump that your are felling around your elbow may be indirectly related to the surgery you had.
the painful lump is most likely "infected olecranon bursitis" . Olecranon bursa is a normal sheath filled with minimal fluid on the back of elbow . sometimes the bursa fills up with excessive fluid resulting in visible swelling. sometimes it can get infected too.
The reason here might be the abnormal boimechanics of your elbow joint after the surgery. consult your doctor, till then apply cold compresses and take analgesics SOS.
take care.
