Painful Rash On The Butt With Orange Jelly Like Substance In Stool

my little brother (3 years old) has had a check up do to a painful rash on his butt (it was just super red) and the doctor said to make sure to check for worms in his stool (which I m not sure what that looks like - explain what i should be looking for please) ..anyway, he just pooped a few minutes ago and i saw these tiny orange jelly like pieces in his stool and i can assure you he does not eat anything that i orange or jelly like for that matter. what is it? should i be worried? is it a sign of worms?
