Painful, Swollen Shin After Being Hurt, Swollen, Dark Bruise In Ankle. Reason, Treatment?
Hi. I was playing volleyball and somehow managed to get kicked verry hard in the shin.. At the time i felt the hit but i kept playing for about 10 more minutes then started feeling pain... The area that was kicked started swelling up. I did not put ice on it until about one hour later. This happened two days ago.. Today i noticed a large dark bruise in my ankle but it doesn t hurt. My shin is still a bit swollen and my ankle also seems to hve a bit of swelling. I can still move my ankle normally except pushing my foot back hurts my hin.. Also, after a little walking, pain starts on my shin. What do you think happened and jat do you suggest i do?
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
It seems that you have developed a hematoma in front of your shin which has now shifted downwards due to the gravity. You can continue icing the area and look for any signs of infection in which case medical management is needed.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
