Pelvic Ultrasound Showing Dark Spot On The Uterus, meaning?
Hello. I had an pelvic ultrasound recently and have a question. The ultrasound technician was quite evasive with my questioning. I understand that she wasn t allowed to diagnose anything. Have to wait two weeks for the radiologist to examine the images. But I m too curious to wait! There was a small dark spot on the place where she told me my uterus was. Could this have been the beginnings of a pregnancy? I am trying to conceive. If it was would they have told me there and then?
hi.
you didn't mentioned what for you performed the ultrasound. however, the ultrasound technician has the authority to perform the ultrasound only and he is not authorised to report the findings because he don't have the detailed knowledge of the findings on the ultrasound as it requires expertise eye and may give you wrong information. you have to wait for your report and to confirm your pregnancy you can perform a lab test known as Beta HCG which is positive from day of the pregnancy
thanks

The chance of you being pregnant is there but can't be said with certainty. Usually Ultrasound will show a ring like or dot like structure. If your periods got missed this time then chance of being pregnant is high. If you do a urine gravindex test that may be more contributory. All the best.
