im 24 yr old and married. we didnt try for pregnancy. for one month my periods delayed and had pelvic scan. doc told me that i have polycystic ovaries. i am not obese. my weight reduced by 4 kgs. doctor gave me folic accid and and iron tablets and i got my periods then. i had hormone test. lh level is 12.4 mIu/ml and progesterone 4.70 ng/ml..is this levels abnormal..? this is the second month.. doctor prescribed ovisterone pco and krimson35.. are these tablets harmful .. do they cause any other problems related with pregnancy..? please anwer me.. Thank you..
Hi and thanks for the query, The hormonal levels supplied are within normal limits. However, it is not unusual to have polycsytic ovarian disease with normal hormonal levels. The treatment prescribed by your doctor is very approrpriate. It would be of interest taking the drugs as prescribed and reporting any abnormalities you might notice in course of taking them. They do very much also increase your chances of getting pregnant. Kind regards and follow up by a gynecologist could be very useful.
