Peripheral Artery Disease And Hypertension. Need To Take Nodosis?
My Father 82 yrs has peripheral artery disease and mile hypertension for which heis taking clopilet, nevilol 5mg, astelose, nephrosafe and supplements over the last nine months his cretinine is increasing and now is 2.2 urea is 52 and serum electrolytes is normal P anca is negative 24hrs urine albumin is normal. kindly suggest if he needs to take nodosis also
First, you must understand why your doctor could prescribe nodosis. Generally, this drug is used to treat the acidic problems related to urine, blood and stomach.
You are saying the albumin level in his 24 hours urine is normal. That's good; however, you are not mentioning if any traces of crystals are seen in his urine; also not mentioning the pH of urine and if your father is having difficulty or/and burning sensation while passing the urine.
If this is the case, he might use nodosis. Furthermore, I would suggest in this case, to test his PSA, do an ultrasound to evaluate his prostate health.
Hope it helped!
