Pimple Dried After Rubbing Alcohol But Have Swelling And Redness In Eyes With Blurred Vision
Hello, My name is Aileen. My pimple got irritated 3 years ago. I tried rubbing it with alcohol several times coz I saw my pt with MRSA and I was so afraid of catching it. I rubbed it with using a clean tissue with lot of alcohol and I did again when I went home. The next day I rubbed it again with alcohol whenever I think of my patient coz I was so afraid of catching the staph infection..my pimple got dry and healed up but I could feel some swelling underneath the pimple and the swelling went down to the upper eyelid and went behind my eye..my eye got so red and painful but it only lasted for a week and then went away with treatment. I didn't go the the doctor coz I thought it was my fault the pimple got irritated. My eye felt like it was being sucked in and my vision on my R eye got blurry after that. Could you tell me what it is? thanks!
Hello It seems from the history that you had inflammation of the eye lid because of extension of infection from a pimple. The infection of one of the gland of the eyelid had caused the swelling and pain in the involved eye. The treatment is by using antibiotic and antiinflammatory drugs.
Thank you
