Pimple On Calf, Painful, Increasing. Is It Outbreak Of Scabies?
My daughter 13 had a pimple like sore on her calf of her leg (outer leg ) this appeared yesterday and is painful as opposed to itchy, increasing in size and soreness. Today we have received a notice from her high school advising that there is an outbreak of scabies at her school in her year...is this what she has? At class breaks the corridors are full so students are constantly brushing up against one another?
Hi! Welcome to HCM! Scabies presents with lesions usually multiple with intense itching that is worse at night. Adults manifest lesions primarily on the Flexor aspects of the wrists, Interdigital web spaces of the hands,Dorsal feet, Axillae, Elbows while young children may develop lesions diffusely, can have lesions on the face, scalp, neck, palms, and soles. Although your daughter has a chance of getting scabies as her other classmates are having the disease but this lesion doesnt seem to be a lesion related to scabies it is painful so it can be folliculitis that is infection of hair follicle on her calf skin. hope I have answered your query!
