Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi, Thanks for writing in. I am a qualified and certified cardiologist. Stent has been placed in part of large coronary tree and stent included the whole coronary tree is susceptible to bad effects of smoking. So the simple answer is NO. If you are addicted you can use help of smoking deaddiction with tools available like nicotine gum, nicotine spray and on top of it fear of stent restenosis and progression of disease elsewhere ought to be enough to convince you to leave smoking. I am amazed to hear this question who has just recovered from ravages of smoking! You ought to be preaching others bad effects of smoking rather than asking an obvious question. Good Luck.
With Best Wishes
